The wife of the Kremlin administration’s chief political strategist was tasked with rethinking the birch tree as a national symbol of Russia

Elena, the wife of Alexander Kharichev, the chief political strategist of the presidential administration, will present the birch tree as a “rethought national symbol of Russia” at the “Russian House 2026” exhibition, Vyorstka has found.

The exhibition will take place on October 7-9 at Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. According to the organizers’ plan, at one of the venues called “National Symbols of Russia,” designers will reinterpret the images of the matryoshka doll, the balalaika, the bear, the birch grove and the domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral.

One of the curators of the “National Symbols of Russia” venue is Elena Kharicheva, the founder of “Amalgama Group.” She was assigned the “Birch Tree” zone. Olga Musienko is the designer of this zone.

“In my capsule, the birch tree becomes a metaphor for the human being; each of us has our own roots, our own path of growth, our own values, and what we pass on further,” Musienko wrote on the Max channel dedicated to the project.

As the organizers note, the “Russian House 2026” exhibition was created in response to a request from Vladimir Putin, voiced at “Russian Creative Week” in September 2025. At that time, the president called for creating goods “based on the traditions, values, and cultural diversity of the multinational people of Russia.”

🟦Alexander Kharichev oversees all major elections in the country, including presidential ones. In addition, Kharichev tries to act as an ideologue of the authorities: at the beginning of 2026, with the help of infographics (in the photo), he named what he considers the main traditional Russian values. According to Kharichev, Russians fully support collectivism and do not see value in their own lives or in human rights.
