The US president’s special envoy Steven Witkoff will come to Moscow. According to Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, this will happen "in the coming weeks." There are no other details yet.

The Kremlin announced Witkoff’s upcoming visit during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to China, where he held talks with Xi Jinping.

Witkoff has not been in Moscow since January. The negotiation process between Russia, Ukraine, and the US has effectively been at a standstill since March, after the war in the Middle East began. In early May, Ushakov said that Russia "sees no point" in continuing the negotiations unless Ukraine makes concessions on Donbas.
