After a series of Ukrainian drone strikes, almost all key oil refineries in central Russia have either been shut down or sharply reduced processing — Reuters.

Over the past week, the Moscow, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, and Kirishi oil refineries came under attack.

In total, this concerns more than 80 million tons of refining capacity per year — about a quarter of the country’s entire oil refining industry.

▶️The Nizhny Novgorod refinery was attacked on May 20; the scale of the shutdown is being clarified

▶️The Moscow refinery stopped operating after the May 17 attack

Against this backdrop, the authorities have already banned gasoline exports through the end of July in order to keep the domestic fuel market stable.

In effect, Ukraine is continuing to shift the war onto the critical infrastructure of the Russian economy, and strikes on oil refining are gradually becoming not isolated incidents but a systemic factor of pressure, Reuters writes.
