In Russia, a five-minute episode was cut from the film "Split" featuring one of the main character’s personalities in women’s clothing

On the Russian video hosting platform Rutube, where pirated versions of films are published, the film "Split" by director M. Night Shyamalan was censored, Verstka noticed.

An entire five-minute episode disappeared from the picture. In the cut fragment, James McAvoy’s character, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, is shown in a female appearance and clothing: in a skirt and shoes.

According to the plot, McAvoy’s character kidnaps three teenage girls and locks them in a basement. Because of the censorship, the narrative line suffers: the viewer is not shown why the film’s heroines end up separated.

At the moment, the cut version of the film has been published on three channels on Rutube: "Filmach," "Prime Time," and "Your Cinema." Verstka was unable to find uncensored versions on Rutube. At the same time, the film is absent from Russian official online cinemas.
