People Are Afraid of You”: Viktoria Bonya Addresses Putin
“People are afraid of you.” Viktoria Bonya recorded an address to Vladimir Putin
Blogger Viktoria Bonya posted on Instagram an 18-minute address “on behalf of the people” to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In it, she said:
Vladimir Vladimirovich, people are afraid of you. The people are afraid, bloggers are afraid, artists are afraid, governors are afraid. And you are the president of our country. I think we should not be afraid.
She listed five problems in Russia that “no governor will talk about”: aid to flood victims in Dagestan; pollution of beaches and the sea in Anapa with fuel oil; rules allowing the killing of animals listed in the Red Book; seizure and destruction of livestock in the Novosibirsk region; and internet shutdowns.
