Reports were filed against a 13-year-old top student for “LGBT propaganda” and banned symbols. Under the law, he cannot be fined: he received a warning and now faces a special school for juvenile offenders
The lawyer representing the 13-year-old schoolboy told “Mediazona” that he showed some kind of picture or video to other children or their parents. They filed a complaint, and officers began an inquiry.
At the same time, administrative liability can only be imposed from the age of sixteen. Therefore, the case was dropped, but the police passed the materials on to the juvenile affairs commission.
As a result, under the protocol on “LGBT propaganda,” the schoolboy was issued a warning, and under the other one, for displaying extremist symbols, members of the juvenile affairs commission decided that the child was “subject to correction” and raised the issue of transferring him to a special closed-type educational institution.
If that decision is approved, the child will have to continue studying at a boarding school for juvenile offenders. In addition, the boy, who had taken part in academic olympiads and won creative competitions, has already been registered as a juvenile offender.
The lawyer has filed court complaints against the decisions of the juvenile affairs commission.
