Novaya Gazeta Europe: almost all leading Russian universities (47 out of 50) are urging students to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry

At 47 of Russia’s 50 best universities, students were urged to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry, according to a study by Novaya Gazeta Europe.

According to Novaya’s analysis, 44 universities have advertising for contract service posted directly on their websites and social media pages. In most cases, this concerns joining the unmanned systems forces.

At the same time, at HSE, RANEPA, and MAI, students are being urged to join the BARS “Moscow” volunteer unit, whose tasks include fighting drones.

At 12 universities, special recruitment events were held where students were told about the advantages of serving in drone forces.

At three universities (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MEPhI, and the Russian State University of Oil and Gas), special classes in the field of UAVs have been introduced. At the same time, 32 of the 50 leading Russian universities run educational programs related to developing or operating drones.
