Officers from the Investigative Committee searched the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and security forces also went to the homes of institute employees, T-Invariant writes, citing sources.
According to the outlet, “about ten philosophers, including Academician Abdusalam Guseynov,” were taken in for questioning; most employees were likely released under a travel restriction order.
The Telegram channel PhilosophyToday reported that institute employee Svetlana Mesyats had been placed under house arrest. Mediazona found on the Moscow City Court website a case entry for a hearing on the choice of a preventive measure. The article under which the case was opened is “fraud by an organized group or on an especially large scale.”
PhilosophyToday claims that the case “concerns an error in reporting on a state assignment under which they were supposed to translate poor Aristotle.”
