Zvyagintsev said this in an interview with TV Rain.

"I'm interested in how the Ministry of Culture will react. Will they give the film a distribution license or not? I fully understand all the reasons why they would say no. But I would try to do it. It would even be interesting to go through that process. The wording is interesting, what people will answer," the director said.

He added that he is sure people in Russia will see the film.

"At the very least, everyone who knows how to press the VPN button will definitely see it, because pirates will have this film. I don't mind at all (that the film will be watched illegally — editor's note). It has no other path," Zvyagintsev noted.

🔵The premiere of the director's first film since 2017 took place at the Cannes Film Festival. Its action unfolds after Vladimir Putin announced "partial mobilization" in September 2022. In the plot, Gleb (Dmitry Mazurov), the director of a Russian transport company, learns that his wife Galina (Iris Lebedeva) is cheating on him.
