On the night of July 18, Ukrainian drones attacked a Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, outside Moscow. Smoke from the fire stretched across five thousand square kilometers, twice the area of Moscow, and was captured in satellite images and footage from an airplane.
All the more striking, then, was how little city life seemed to have changed at first glance: people were walking with strollers, relaxing outdoors, and paddleboarding.
