FBK: Ozon’s largest shareholder received the money to buy his stake from Putin’s friend, billionaire Gennady Timchenko

This is stated in an FBK investigation.

34% of Ozon is owned by the company O23. These shares previously belonged to the Baring Vostok investment fund, which left Russia after the start of the full-scale war and sold its stake.

According to official data, Baring Vostok’s stake ultimately ended up with investor Alexander Chachava, who bought it for 38 billion rubles.

FBK claims that Chachava is a “relatively well-known businessman and major investor,” but that “he does not have anything close to that kind of money.”

According to documents reviewed by the foundation, O23 belongs to the company Corporation 42, which in turn belongs to the company Stratosfera, which is owned by Chachava.

According to the accounting statements, Chachava’s Stratosfera received more than 51 billion rubles from structures linked to billionaire Gennady Timchenko, who is described as a friend of Putin and one of his “wallets.”

FBK concludes that today, as a result of the shelling, “together with Ozon’s warehouses, Putin’s personal money is burning”:

“We told you exactly the same story about the Baltika brewery, identical in every way. Under the pretext of the war, the assets of a foreign company ended up in Putin’s slush fund. We told you about Shell’s assets in Russia, same thing, they went to the same firms. As for VKontakte, we’re sure you already know: now it all belongs to Putin’s closest friends too. And now Ozon as well.”
