In Vladimir Region, media outlets want to be held liable for publishing the governor’s message about UAV attacks

Yekaterina Gutsalenko, head of the governor administration’s mass communications department, told Zebra TV that Gostekhnadzor drew up a protocol stating that the fine could amount to up to 200,000 rubles.

The issue is that the region has had a ban in place for almost a year on the dissemination of any information about drone attacks.

The official is demanding that the media outlet be held liable for a publication about drones striking apartment buildings in Vladimir Region, which relayed the governor’s emergency message saying that “everything is under control” and there were no casualties. At the same time, this same official had previously told this same outlet officially that quoting the governor did not violate the ban.

According to Zebra TV, similar claims have at the same time begun to be made against other media outlets and ordinary residents of Vladimir Region as well.
