Patriarch Gundyayev has been blaring since morning about the "sacred day" of the "invention of the Russian language," because the Russian Orthodox Church calendar has "Saints Cyril and Methodius" in it.

Is there anything at all in "Russian history" besides lies?

It is clear that the whole of history has been processed by propaganda and given an orthodox-patriotic straightening.

Russian "history" has always been written to the dictation of the "bosses."

The tradition of replacing reality with sickly-sweet heroics began with the very first Russian chronicles.

Still, there are lies whose benefit is understandable. Funny fantasies about the "Varyag," "Borodino," the "Battle on the Ice," as well as about Zoya or Panfilov's men, have a simple practical explanation: examples from the past were needed to inspire the Russian rabble to go die once again.

But why did anyone need the fake story about "Cyril and Methodius," and who needed it?

Patriarch Gunya is once again prattling on about this pair as figures who "gave Russia the happiness of writing, reading, and thinking in Russian," as the "creators of Russian writing."

The piquancy of the situation is that "Cyril and Methodius" did not create the "Cyrillic alphabet," but the "Glagolitic alphabet" (the set of squiggles in the illustration).

Moreover, they cobbled it together not for the "Russian tribes," but for Bulgaria and Moravia, on the orders of Tsar Simeon I of Bulgaria.

Still, the result of the labors of these hustlers, to put it mildly, "didn't catch on" there either. No one, including Cyril and Methodius themselves, ever managed to memorize those squiggles.

The Cyrillic alphabet was produced later by a certain Clement of Ohrid, who likewise had nothing to do with Rus.
