Russia threatened strikes on “decision-making centers” in Kyiv

Russia’s Foreign Ministry threatened that the Russian Armed Forces would strike defense enterprises, “decision-making centers,” and command posts in Kyiv in response to Ukraine’s strike on a dormitory in the annexed LPR.

The Foreign Ministry urged foreigners, including diplomats, to leave Kyiv “as soon as possible,” and told city residents “not to approach military and administrative infrastructure facilities of the Zelensky regime.”

On the night of May 24, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike on Kyiv, using, among other things, missiles launched from the Oreshnik system. Shopping centers, museums, and cultural institutions were damaged. Two people were killed, and 81 were injured.

On the night of May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Starobilsk in the LPR. Russia said the strike hit the dormitory of a teacher training college, killing 21 people. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that in the Starobilsk area they struck ammunition depots, air defense assets, command posts, and one of the headquarters of the Russian army.
