Zvyagintsev never condemned the slaughter unleashed by Kyiv in Donbas, so he has no right to speak — Peskov
Dmitry Peskov commented on Andrey Zvyagintsev’s remarks while receiving the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival:
I will not judge Zvyagintsev’s artistic qualities and I have not seen his new film, which won an award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The only thing that matters to me is that Zvyagintsev never condemned the bloody slaughter unleashed by the Kyiv regime in Donbas. Starting in 2014, when the war began, if he had done that then, perhaps he would have had the right to speak. But now he does not have that right.
Peskov also said that he would not pass along Zvyagintsev’s words to Putin after he received the Grand Prix in Cannes about ending the war.

Speech Rights Now Depend on Loyalty
Peskov said Zvyagintsev had no right to speak.
Dissent still needs a loyalty check.
