The Central Bank said Mastercard and Visa cards need to leave the Russian market

“They no longer perform the function they used to provide,” said Alla Bakina, director of the National Payment System Department at the Bank of Russia, TASS writes.

Regarding cards of international payment systems, our position is that, of course, these cards should leave our market; they do not carry out and do not perform the function they always provided, while the NSPK bears the costs of supporting these cards.
