A Rostov-on-Don resident was fined for reacting with a poop emoji to a video with Russian soldiers in a building chat. A report on discrediting the army was drawn up against him after his neighbors denounced him.

The court ruling says that Rostov resident Sergey Korovainy put a poop emoji on a clip of a military vehicle “firing a salvo of munitions” — the video had been sent to the apartment building’s chat by one of the residents.

The man explained that with the poop emoji he wanted to express a “negative attitude” toward the neighbor who posted the video with the soldiers, because publishing such clips is “prohibited by law.”

The Sovetsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don did not agree with these arguments and slapped Korovainy with a 30K fine.

The court ruling does not specify which messenger the chat was in.
