The Insider found a Russian trace in the group that claimed responsibility for the attempted arson of a plant in Slovakia

The “anti-war” group Global Citizens Against War 1984, which claimed responsibility for preparing an arson attack on the Slovak plant of the Ukrainian drone manufacturer Skyeton, shows several signs of Russian origin.

As the outlet found, on Instagram GCAW1984 two saved story highlights were given the Russian title “Aktualnoye.” In addition, the source code of the organization’s website, assembled with Hostinger AI Builder from a ready-made template, still contained Yandex’s signature font YS Text.

While quoting Orwell’s novel 1984 in the manifesto on the website, the authors used not the original quote but the phrase "even in the singular," which literally reproduces the construction from the Russian translation.

There are also oddities involving two members of the organization. The biographies of the “Pole” Robert Lewanowski and the “Serb” Stefan Ilić could not be confirmed by independent sources, and both names almost exactly match the names of famous footballers: Robert Lewandowski and Stefan Ilic.
