The decision by the Labytnangi City Court was reported by Mediazona.

Yelena Gorban submitted her statement to the investigative department on May 17. In it, she said that the investigator had violated the deadlines and requirements for reviewing it. He replied that after receiving the statement, he had questioned Miftakhov and colony staff, as well as inspected the scene and seized video recordings.

“It was cold at night, but that problem has been solved. Now it’s cool. A little uncomfortable, but bearable. Before, it was terribly cold,” Miftakhov said during a break, when he was connected to the hearing by video link.

According to the political prisoner, when the investigator came to inspect the room where he had been tortured, the carpet and furniture had disappeared from it: “Empty, and tools are lying around, like there’s a renovation.”

“I had abrasions, I rubbed my face against that carpet,” Miftakhov said.
