Putin: The Only Crimes That Should Not Be Subject to a Statute of Limitations Are Crimes Against Humanity
Vladimir Putin made this statement during a meeting with Alexander Shokhin, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, at which the statute of limitations for privatization deals was discussed (in May, the State Duma approved a provision setting a 10-year limitation period).
As for the issue that we have been discussing for several years now, namely the restoration of the statute of limitations for certain transactions, including privatization transactions, I would like to say the following:
There is only one type of offense, one type of crime, to which statutes of limitations do not apply and should not, in my view, apply: crimes against humanity. In all other cases, a statute of limitations is necessary,
Vladimir Putin said.

A Grand Principle for One Deal
At a privatization meeting, Putin recalled only crimes against humanity.
For everything else, a deadline appeared.
