Activist Suspected of FSB Ties Linked to Entrapment Case

Original source

Veronika Goretskaya is a Rostov activist long suspected of ties to the FSB. A new piece by Mediazona focuses on her

In early 2023, security forces in Rostov detained four young people who allegedly planned to set fire to a district military enlistment office to disrupt mobilization. Three of them were charged with attempted terrorism (later facing 9 to 11 years in a high-security colony), while the fourth — their close friend Veronika Goretskaya — was released without charges, and her name does not appear in the indictment.

At the same time, the case includes a classified witness “Ivanova,” who introduced the would-be arsonists to each other and actively participated in preparing the attack. Mediazona compared the witness testimony with Goretskaya’s interviews and concluded that “Ivanova” and Goretskaya are the same person.

🔗 A year ago, OVD-Info already reported how friendship with Goretskaya led six young men to criminal cases.
