Germany, after the incident in Leipzig, intends to reduce the issuance of tourist visas to Russians

German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Martin Giese said that tourist trips by Russian citizens to Germany “cannot continue in the previous format” “as long as Russia is waging an aggressive war,” DW quotes him as saying.

Giese also added that Germany would hold talks with its partners in the European Union regarding the issuance of visas to Russians.

We want the number of visas issued to be reduced even further,

he said, adding that “the number of visas issued to Russian citizens for leisure in the European Union is too high.”

He also stressed that when implementing these measures, the aim is to ensure the entry only of those persons who do not pose a danger.
