Criminal case opened against a Magadan pensioner convicted over posts about the war for donations to FBK

A criminal case has been opened against 69-year-old activist Tamara Kryukova for financing extremist activity (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). She herself told OVD-Info about it.

On April 2, officials came to search her home. The security forces did not wait for her lawyer. They seized Kryukova's foreign passport, her phone, her sister's bank card, and all of the pensioner's cash savings.

Kryukova is currently under a travel restriction order.

She said she is accused of sending FBK three donations of one thousand rubles each, in January and February 2022. Kryukova says she does not remember making those donations.

▶️ The activist's first case

In the spring of 2024, Kryukova was fined 400 thousand rubles in a case on justifying terrorism.

She was convicted over posts related to the war in Ukraine. She spoke out against the killing of civilians and also shared two articles about the activities of the RDK and the Freedom of Russia Legion.

Before being detained in the criminal case, Kryukova went through a carousel of successive arrests. In total, in 2023 she was held administratively liable 12 times under articles on an unauthorized protest, discrediting the army, and displaying banned symbols.
