HSE Faculty of Mathematics Associate Professor Andrey Dymov was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony for a donation to the FBK
Moscow’s Zyuzinsky District Court sentenced mathematician Andrey Dymov, an associate professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), to three and a half years in a penal colony on charges of “financing extremism.”
The case was triggered by donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).
According to Mediazona, Dymov signed up to donate to the FBK on August 5, 2021. In total, he transferred 3,500 rubles. The mathematician admitted guilt.
Dymov’s page on the HSE website says that he has worked at the university since 2015 and was twice named best teacher in student voting.
