In Kamchatka, public sector workers are being forced to vote for Irina Yarovaya in United Russia’s primaries

In Kamchatka, United Russia members are using special handouts to force public sector workers to register and vote in United Russia’s primaries for Irina Yarovaya, the State Duma deputy speaker elected from the region. Verstka has obtained these flyers.

Under the slogan “Support your own!” they propose registering on United Russia’s primary election website using a QR code and voting for Yarovaya, as well as for several candidates for regional deputy seats.

“This is how ‘people choose’ - coerced public sector workers. She [Yarovaya] has to be supported across the whole region, and the names of the candidates for Kamchatka’s legislative assembly depend on the district. Among them are all those fucking worn-out United Russia deputies and other party bullshit,” a Verstka source in a local state institution said.

Both of Verstka’s sources described the monitoring scheme for the “correct” expression of will in the same way.

“They put a cheat sheet into each [public sector worker’s] hands showing who to cast a vote for in the primaries. Then they have to show the supervisors [from among the heads of state institutions] screenshots [of the ‘correct’ vote],” one of them explained.

💜Irina Yarovaya has continuously served in the State Duma for four convocations since 2007. In particular, it was she who submitted to the State Duma in 2016 the scandalously well-known “Yarovaya package,” which now requires telecom operators to store all user data, including their private correspondence, for three years.
