"Save yourselves." Owners of apartments damaged after the drone attack in the Moscow region never received the promised help. They are dismayed by the authorities' refusal to take responsibility for the consequences of the war
The destruction that came to the Moscow region after Kursk and Belgorod caught both residents and officials here off guard as well. Residents of Lobnya near Moscow who suffered from the UAV attack on the night of May 17 encountered complete indifference from the administration and do not believe the promised compensation will be assigned. Three women residents told this to "MO," and local social media has also filled with angry reviews of officials' actions.
🤷♀️As early as the daytime of May 17, Lobnya head Anna Krotova reported that the inspection of homes damaged by the UAV attack had been completed. According to the official, windows had been blown out in most apartments, and workers had already begun glazing them. However, in comments under officials' posts, residents of the damaged apartments write the opposite. Residents also say that the promise turned out to be a lie.
👱In Svetlana's apartment (name changed), the blast wave blew out the glass. According to the woman, the administration learned about the damage to the apartment building from the residents themselves. "I started writing in the head's and the governor's chat, and in the head's chat, by the way, they deleted the comment. After the publication, three deputy heads came to our building, I told them: go upstairs and document it. Honestly, I didn't notice any benefit at all from those deputies coming," the woman complains.
She no longer counts on support from the authorities: "If the administration and the management company learned about the victims from the residents themselves, came and did nothing, did not speak to the people who were terrified, what can you expect from them? Nothing! Comments in the city head's chat are being deleted. What conclusion can be drawn? Save yourselves!".
👩🦰According to another source from Lobnya, Tatyana, administration representatives did not even call the owners of the affected apartments. "All of us had windows blown out, from the fifth floor up. There is simply silence from the administration, no promises, no explanations. They never offered me help, they never answered repeated questions in the governor's chat, and they deleted my post in the city head's chat. The management company replied that the problem had been solved by covering the window with plastic sheeting. By the way, the plastic was safely blown away by the wind on Friday night during the thunderstorm," she told "MO." "I won't get answers or compensation," Tatyana is sure.
🧑🦰In Marina's building, the blast wave also blew out windows. The woman herself called the district police officer to document the consequences. "An administration representative contacted us, but is not really engaging, and is not answering questions at all. They sent us to the administration to write an application. They told us right away that it is a very long process," the Moscow region resident shared in a conversation with "MO."
😡Lobnya residents write the same thing in comments under officials' posts:
✏️Why are they ignoring us even in this situation?
✏️Why should I, as the injured party, have to go around proving that our glass is broken, and on top of that everyone keeps sending you somewhere else?
✏️There is still no explanation from the city head about who will fix the damage and when!

We wrote here and here about how families in the Kursk and Belgorod regions who lost their homes because of the war are also waiting in vain for help.
Windows Gone, Officials Still Shut
Lobnya residents had to chase help and document damage themselves after the attack.
Officials showed up mainly in the comments.
