Around Putin’s residence on Valdai, already 27 towers for air defense systems have been found

Twenty-six towers were built for Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, and the 27th for an S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, according to an interactive map prepared by Radio Liberty journalist Mark Krutov.

According to him, judging by Planet Labs satellite images, construction of eight new Pantsir-S1 towers began on March 17. Most of them have already been built, and some are equipped with anti-aircraft missile systems, Krutov noted.

The first Pantsir-S1 air defense system appeared in the area of Putin’s residence on Valdai in January 2023, and the second in July 2024. In 2025, however, the number of air defense systems in this area began to increase: in August there were 12 of them, and by December there were already 20.
