Novaya Gazeta Declared a 'Foreign Agent'
A statement from Russia's Justice Ministry says that the online outlet Novaya Gazeta has been added to the register.
According to the ministry, Novaya Gazeta spread "false information" about decisions by the Russian authorities and about Russia's electoral system. The online outlet also "opposed the special military operation" and took part "in distributing messages and materials of foreign agents to an unlimited audience."
Also added to the "foreign agents" register were:
✹ Felix Sandalov, former editor-in-chief of the Individuum publishing house;
✹ the journal Historical Expertise;
✹ poet Sergey Leibgard;
✹ Tatyana Tatarinova, professor of bioinformatics at the University of La Verne.
