Semyon Slepakov has been arrested in absentia in a “foreign agent” case

The ruling on the arrest in absentia was issued by Moscow’s Basmanny District Court. It ordered that Slepakov be placed in custody for two months from the moment he is handed over to Russia in the event of extradition or deportation, or from the moment of his actual detention on Russian territory.

The case against Slepakov became known in early April. He is accused under the article on evading the duties of a “foreign agent.” The Moscow Prosecutor’s Office said Slepakov had twice been brought to administrative responsibility within a year for failing to display the “foreign agent” label.
