Russia threatened to halt supplies of gas, oil, and diamonds to Armenia if Yerevan continues moving closer to the European Union.

"Russia may suspend or unilaterally denounce the agreement on supplies of natural gas, petroleum products, and uncut diamonds to the republic, signed in December 2013, if Yerevan continues the process of joining the EU," says a letter from Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev to Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration (as quoted by Kommersant).

At present, more than 80% of the gas consumed by Armenia comes from Russia.
