Former Bryansk Region head Alexander Bogomaz may join the State Duma transport committee

RTVI was told this by a source close to the Duma Council.

“Bogomaz was the first to fall under the conflict-of-interest rule. He first wanted to join the agrarian policy committee, but was turned away: according to available information, he has 20% of Russia’s potato market,” the source believes.

Another source told the outlet that “the leadership’s position in the Duma is tough: it has been decided to fully restrict those who chose to use their posts to protect their business interests.”

“The first steps in this direction have been taken, and the necessary amendments to the State Duma regulations have been adopted regarding appointments to the posts of committee chairmen and deputy chairmen,” he noted.
