Putin’s family spends hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise their children as "educated Europeans." To do this, they hired dozens of foreign governesses, including from Western countriesThere is nothing unusual about hiring a nanny for a child. Or a governess. Even one who speaks English or German.

But the younger children of the president of Russia are a special case. While Putin planned and waged a bloody war against the "Western hegemon" and the "Anglo-Saxons" and complained that "Russia is surrounded by enemies," his sons, Ivan and Vladimir, were from an early age taught to speak English and German fluently. The boys’ speech was specifically supposed to sound like the “speech of an educated European.” To achieve that, each son had between 4 and 6 foreign governesses assigned to him.

Meanwhile, Russian schools are cutting back foreign language class hours in order to reduce students’ workload. But part of the freed-up time is being given to a new subject: "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia." Instead of English, children will study “traditional spiritual values.”

"Systema" uncovered data on at least twenty foreigners who, at different times, taught Vanya and Vova to hold a pencil and spoon in their right hand, wash themselves, and ask for pizza in English. Some of the governesses came from countries that Russia now calls "unfriendly" and even accuses of "imposing destructive attitudes" — Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Austria, and New Zealand. Putin’s family spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on their salaries every year.
