To Be Or:

⚡️Romania, a "Shahed" struck an apartment building in the city of Galați. This is a city on the Danube by the Romanian-Ukrainian border. The drone flew into an apartment on the tenth floor of a residential building, two people were injured. By all indications, this was specifically a Russian-launched "Shahed," not some kind of...

Romania, the EU, and NATO's reaction turned out to be even weaker than I expected.

They didn't even activate Article 4. They simply said that the UAV was not intended to attack Romania and hit the building by accident.

But. In response, Romania is closing the Russian consulate in Constanța and expelling Consul Andrey Kosilin.

And if we set aside our wishful thinking with you (which at a minimum amounts to Romania and Poland declaring UAVs entering Ukraine's border regions a threat to their countries, and helping Ukraine shoot them down with their F-16s), then in the dry residue, with one drone strike Russia lost an entire consulate.

President Nicușor Dan placed full responsibility on Russia and addressed the Romanian political leaders who tried to justify Russia in this incident, and also emphasized the partnership with Ukraine in drone production:

▪️I want to note the irresponsibility of some Romanian political leaders and opinion leaders who are justifying Russia over this incident. Now Romania's citizens can see who is truly pro-Western and who is engaged in imitation.

▪️We have this drone. It is a "Geran-2," launched from Russia. We know the trajectory. We know where the UAV entered Romania. This was a swarm of 43 drones, one of which entered Romania.

▪️We have the SAFE program, an important component for building up counter-drone capabilities. And we have a partnership with Ukraine, signed three months ago, on joint drone production.

Why I am drawing attention to Nicușor Dan's statement.

Because in the context of the parliamentary crisis now flaring up in Romania and potentially leading to early elections, it is very important that the pro-Russian electorate not rock this situation to its own advantage.

There, the country's oldest party, the National Liberal Party, has only just begun to regain ground... (over the course of a month it rose from 15% to 19%; the pro-Russian far-right nationalists of AUR are at 35%).
