Drones attacked an “industrial facility” in Novy Urengoy
This was reported by Dmitry Artyukhov, the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
“As a result of falling UAV debris, a fire broke out. Emergency service specialists are working at the scene. Most importantly: there are no dead or injured. The extent and nature of the damage are being established,” the head of the region wrote.
Putin's envoy in the Urals, Artem Zhoga, reported a “fire on the premises of a fuel and energy complex facility.”
Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels also reported the attack.
During the war, alerts over drones and missiles had already been declared in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, but today's attack was the first officially confirmed to have caused damage. Novy Urengoy is about 2,800 kilometers from the border — the drone attack became the farthest-reaching one of the entire war.
