A conscript from the Moscow region died in the war, where he was sent after a suicide attempt

Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Korolkov — a former technical college student in Dmitrov near Moscow and a conscript soldier — ended up at the front after a suicide attempt and went missing. This was reported by “Veter.”

His mother told the outlet that in the summer of 2024 Korolkov took academic leave, after which he received a draft notice. A month into his compulsory service, he was diagnosed with “mixed personality disorder.”

At a training center in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the conscript tried to kill himself; later, already at a military unit in the Voronezh region, he was admitted to a psychoneurological dispensary. Five days after being discharged from the dispensary, Korolkov signed a military contract.

the outlet quotes the conscript’s mother as saying. She is certain the contract was fictitious.

According to his mother’s account, in January 2025 Korolkov ended up in the occupied territories of Ukraine, where he paid his way out of assaults several times. Later he disappeared in the Svatove district of the Luhansk region; in June, his mother was issued a death certificate.

After his mother filed a complaint, a case was opened against the acting commander of the military unit over the unlawful signing of a contract with Korolkov.
