The authorities are sending out fake “Smart Voting” recommendations in the hope of confusing voters

Fake lists in the name of the “Smart Voting” project have begun spreading on social networks and in messengers. They push pro-government candidates and spoilers on voters, passing them off as “Smart Voting” candidates, the editors of “Sirena” noted.

The main goal is to dilute the protest vote amid United Russia’s falling ratings. The Kremlin already pulled a similar trick during the 2021 State Duma elections: back then, Russians were mass-spammed with false lists through copycat bots, fake websites, and “leaked” databases.

Earlier, Yulia Navalnaya called on people to follow the recommendation of “Smart Voting” in order to inflict maximum damage on the monopoly of the party of power. That is exactly why it is so important for the authorities to confuse the protest electorate.

How not to fall for fakes:

FBK’s team publishes real recommendations exclusively on the official pages and channels of the Anti-Corruption Foundation on social media and in the Smart Voting Telegram bot.
