A ministry for the protection of facilities will appear in Nizhny Novgorod Region. It will oversee defense against drones.

“Key functions will be concentrated in a single bloc of the government, relating both to Nizhny Novgorod Region’s contribution to the country’s defense capability as a whole and to ensuring the security of the region itself under the conditions of the special military operation. This includes comprehensive assistance to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and protection of the skies over the region and of its utility and energy infrastructure facilities, which are among the main targets of attacks by enemy drones,” the region’s governor said
