According to investigators, in the summer of 2023 three men took a 41-year-old acquaintance to a cemetery in Mogocha under a false pretext. One of the accused worked there as a grave digger.
The man was thrown into an empty grave, doused with gasoline and set on fire, after which he was covered with earth. He died of suffocation.
The court sentenced the accused to between 15 and 19.5 years in a strict-regime penal colony. They did not admit guilt.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office separately reported that two of the defendants later went off to war, because of which proceedings in their cases have been suspended.
