Ukraine’s Armed Forces have begun cutting off supplies to the Russian army along the Taganrog — Mariupol — Melitopol — Dzhankoi highway, and drivers were urged to “limit” travel on it “unless absolutely necessary.” Restrictions on gasoline sales were introduced in Crimea

Appointed by Russia, the heads of the regions Yevgeny Balitsky and Vladimir Saldo reported that Ukrainian troops had mined the “Novorossiya” highway at the borders of the occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

“Enemy UAVs drop an explosive device that detonates when movement is detected, regardless of whether it is a car or a pedestrian. I ask drivers to limit trips unless absolutely necessary,” Balitsky noted.

🔹In the occupied part of Kherson region, travel along the highway to Crimea has been restricted since May 21. An exception was made for transport carrying military cargo, fuel, medicines, and perishable food products.

🔹As BBC Verify, the BBC’s fact-checking team, established, at least 10 drone attack incidents have recently occurred on the section between the Russian border and occupied Mariupol. One more was recorded southwest of Melitopol. “Hundreds” of Russian army trucks were attacked, the project claims.

🔹Ukraine’s military intelligence agency reported that sections of the highway between Berdiansk, Melitopol, and Dzhankoi “are under fire control of operators from Ukrainian military intelligence.” The agency published video showing burning fuel tankers, trucks, and lowboy trailers.

🔹Sergei Aksyonov, the Russia-appointed head of Crimea, followed Sevastopol in restricting sales of AI-95 gasoline starting May 30.

“It has been decided to limit, from 9:00 on May 30, the volume of AI-95 gasoline sales to no more than 20 liters per person once per day... I ask Crimeans not to buy gasoline for stockpiling and to refuel their vehicles as usual,” he said.
