Cases against FBK donors are one of the most high-profile examples of Russians being persecuted for donations. Here is what happened just this week:

🟠 Andrey Dymov, an associate professor at the Faculty of Mathematics at HSE University (students twice named him the best teacher), was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony for transferring 3,500 rubles to FBK.

🟠 A case was opened against Magadan pensioner Tamara Kryukova over donations to FBK. During the search, security forces seized the pensioner’s foreign passport, phone, and all of her cash savings. She is accused of three transfers of 1,000 rubles each. The 69-year-old woman herself says she does not remember making these donations.

🟠 Arkhangelsk neurosurgeon Nikolai Serebrennikov, a doctor with 27 years of experience who was repeatedly called the best in his field, was fined 450,000 rubles for 3,500 rubles transferred to FBK.

🟠 And two more cases in St. Petersburg: Yevgeny Vereshchagin was given a 3-year suspended sentence for transfers to FBK totaling 2,100 rubles, and Konstantin Yegorov was given a fine of 550,000 rubles for transfers totaling 7,000.

Unfortunately, this week is not an exception. Our analysts calculated that in one of the weeks in March, defendants in persecution cases over donations to FBK received six sentences, and in another, as many as eight.
