Higher tank school to be reestablished in Chelyabinsk after nearly 20 years
A higher tank school will be reestablished in Chelyabinsk after nearly 20 years
According to the directive, the institution will be created by August 1 of this year, and within six months the government must resolve all registration issues. Funding will be provided by the Defense Ministry.
The Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School was established in 1941 — it trained tank commanders, military technicians, and senior driver-mechanics. In the 1990s it was renamed the Chelyabinsk Tank Institute; it was disbanded in 2007. In 2018, the institution’s property complex was bought by a local deputy for the construction of a residential complex.
The Closed School Is Needed Again
The school is returning after disbandment and the sale of its property.
First they closed it, now they recreate it by decree.
