Altai activist and mother of three Aruna Arna sentenced to five years in a prison colony

Aruna Arna was convicted in a case over justifying terrorism — the basis was video clips for the songs "The Internationale" and "Warszawianka," published on her personal social media accounts. Before that, the woman had repeatedly been fined for anti-war statements, writes Mediazona.

Aruna has three small children left behind. When she was detained, her youngest daughter was less than a year old.

Aruna Arna is one of the leaders of the Altai protests. She spoke out against the construction of resort infrastructure on Lake Manzherok and the Karakol Lakes, criticized the municipal reform, and also protested against Governor Andrei Turchak.
