Putin Spoke by Phone With Pashinyan

Putin congratulated the Armenian prime minister on his birthday. They also discussed the results of the EAEU summit in Astana, which Pashinyan did not attend.

🔵Against the backdrop of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, relations between Moscow and Yerevan have sharply deteriorated. Thus, on Friday, following the EAEU meeting, Putin, Lukashenko, Tokayev, and Japarov signed a statement saying there is “a need to hold, as soon as possible in Armenia, a nationwide referendum on joining the EU or remaining part of the EAEU.”

🔵Earlier, Rospotrebndzor banned the import from Armenia to Russia of fish, cucumbers, tomatoes, greens, and strawberries, banned the supply and circulation of Jermuk mineral water, as well as the import of one brand of Armenian cognac and two brands of wine.

🔵Yesterday, Lukashenko, against the backdrop of the upcoming elections, advised the residents of Armenia to be more careful when choosing between Russia and Europe — “so as not to repeat what happened in Ukraine.” He made that statement following Putin.
