After attacks on its warehouses, Wildberries decided to buy anti-drone netting. It would cover 67 soccer fields

In early August, the marketplace Wildberries posted a tender to purchase 478,000 square meters of galvanized metal mesh for eight Russian regions where its logistics centers are located. The Bell noticed the tender.

The tender description does not say what the company will use the mesh for. A source for The Bell suggested it is anti-drone netting: “Fencing everything off with metal is still the most popular option, given its fairly high effectiveness and the absence of risks and any regulatory requirements, well, apart from construction ones.”

The price of the mesh from contractors who applied for the tender ranges from 154 to 474 rubles per square meter. That means the purchase could cost Wildberries between 74 million and 227 million rubles.

According to expert estimates, as a result of Ukrainian UAV attacks on Wildberries warehouses in July and August 2026, the marketplace and its sellers suffered damages amounting to hundreds of billions of rubles.
