The daughter of one of Putin’s proxies was sentenced in absentia to six years for taking part in an anti-war rally and calling for donations to the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Pervomaysky District Court in Kirov sentenced 28-year-old Aleksandra Pugach in absentia to six years in prison in a case over spreading “fake news” about the army.

Aleksandra Pugach is the daughter of Vyatka State University rector Valentin Pugach. In the 2018 presidential election, he served as Vladimir Putin’s proxy in Kirov Oblast.

After the start of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, Pugach left for Georgia and stopped communicating with her father. The reason for the case against her was her speech at an anti-war rally in Georgia: she called on people to help Ukraine and donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
