Another revealing story about a young Russian man who fell for a “UAV contract.” Nineteen-year-old Vlad Solovyov from Izhevsk reassured his relatives that he definitely would not be sent even to “dig trenches,” but it all ended exactly as we warned: he was sent into assault units. On his very first combat mission near Pokrovsk, the young man went missing, and now his mother is wearing out officials’ doorsteps trying to find out anything at all about her son’s fate.

According to his mother, Vlad followed the example of two acquaintances from their building who had signed contracts with the Defense Ministry shortly before him. Both had already been buried not long before his disappearance. One wonders: if he had known how it would end for his neighbors, would he have changed his decision?
