She was charged with extortion and defamation.

According to investigators, at the end of May the editor-in-chief received a writ ordering the removal of two publications damaging the honor, dignity, and business reputation of a Tyumen entrepreneur and people associated with him.

Voronina demanded three million rubles from the businessman to delete six materials mentioning his name and his business partners.

Also, “if her demands were not met,” the woman threatened to publish another article “of a defamatory nature.”

The agency уточняет that the editor-in-chief was detained while receiving the money.
