Ukrainian strikes have halted operations at two more major oil refineries in Russia, Reuters says

Reuters sources claim that after the attacks, operations at the refineries in Syzran and Saratov have been completely halted. According to them, the plant in Syzran suspended operations on September 15, while the Saratov refinery did so last Friday.

The shutdown of the refineries, the outlet writes, is likely to worsen Russia’s domestic fuel shortage. Rosneft did not respond to the agency’s request.

🔹According to Reuters sources, several facilities at the Syzran refinery were damaged, including the main primary oil refining unit. The sources noted that repairs could take at least a month. The second unit was under repair after a previous drone attack in July.

🔹The Saratov refinery had already suspended operations for several weeks after a drone attack on August 2. Sources report that it was preparing to resume processing after repairs on September 10–11.

🔵According to a Reuters analysis, in September, because of shelling, half of Russia’s largest refineries producing diesel fuel were forced to significantly reduce output or completely halt production.
