The Federation Council has approved a law on the seizure of the property of Russians who left the country for offenses "against the interests of the Russian Federation"
Deputies of the upper house of the Russian parliament approved at a plenary session on June 3 a law on prosecuting Russians who left the country for offenses "directed against the interests of the Russian Federation." Among other things, it provides for the seizure of property as an interim measure.
The State Duma passed this law on May 26. It now must be signed by the president. After that, the law will take effect on September 1, 2026.
