A Russian drone exploded near the border with Poland

“A massive attack on the western part of Ukraine has just ended, in close proximity to the Polish border. Apparently, a gas station was hit again, and our aviation was scrambled,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk said, according to Reuters.

The Polish military said no violation of Polish airspace had been recorded. Airports in Rzeszów and Lublin resumed operations after being closed.

Poland’s Operational Command said the drone fell or was shot down about four kilometers from the Polish-Ukrainian border.

On the night of September 13, drones attacked a gas station near the Yahodyn checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border. A passenger train on the Kyiv-Warsaw railway line was also attacked at the same time. Near the train struck by a drone was a railway train carrying Western politicians returning from Ukraine. Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that the strikes had been carried out against “railway infrastructure facilities that support the transport of military cargo from European countries.”
